Course Intention

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the learner with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace-based experience to operate as a Supply Chain Manager. A Supply Chain Manager implements the supply chain strategy, develops operational plans, sets performance objectives, manages and monitors service delivery across the supply chain.

Qualified learners will be able to:

  • Develop operational plans for the implementation of supply chain strategy across the supply chain.
  • Develop execution guidelines for supply chain policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate implementation of operational plans.

Course Content

This qualification consists of Knowledge Modules, Practical Skill Modules and Work Place Based

Knowledge Modules

  • KM-01, Supply Chain Management Theory, Level 6, 14 Credits.
  • KM-02, Supply Chain Service Delivery Operational Planning, Level 6, 19 Credits.
  • KM-03, Risks, Compliance Management and Supply Chain Vulnerability, Level 6, 12 Credits.
  • KM-04, Operational Performance Management and Improvement, Level 6, 16 Credits.
  • KM-05, Management of Major Programmes and Projects, Level 6, 15 Credits.

Practical Modules

  • PM-01, Translate the Supply Chain, Priorities, Objectives and Targets into Operational Plans and Performance Objectives, Level 6, 14 Credits.
  • PM-02, Align Supply Chain Operational Schedules with Associated Operational Plans and Performance Objectives, Level 6, 10 Credits.
  • PM-03, Develop a Risk Management Strategy, Level 6, 8 Credits.
  • PM-04, Develop Procedures for the Implementation of Operational Plans, Level 6, 12 Credits.
  • PM-05, Determine Contract Specifications and Service Level Agreements, Level 5, 6 Credits.
  • PM-06, Develop Criteria to Monitor Implementation of Operational Plans against Supply Chain Strategy, Level 6, 9 Credits.
  • PM-07, Develop Criteria and Evaluate Operational Scheduling Implementation Compliance, Level 6, 9 Credits.

Admission Requirements

  • NQF Level 4 qualification with Mathematical Literacy and at least 2 years’ assessed experience.
  • Relevant NQF Level 5 qualification.
