Course Intention

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the learner with the required knowledge, practical skills and workplace-based experience to prepare a learner to operate as a Supply Chain Executive. A Supply Chain Executive develops, reviews and monitors the implementation of supply chain strategic plans and policies that are required to coordinate all departments and functional areas to achieve organisational objectives.

Qualified learners will be able to:

  • Develop an integrated supply chain strategy in line with organisational goals.
  • Develop and review supply chain policies for the implementation and evaluation of supply chain strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate implementation of the supply chain strategies and policies.

This qualification consists of Knowledge Modules, Practical Skill Modules and Work Place Based

Knowledge Modules

  • KM-01, Supply Chain Strategy Development, Level 7, 19 Credits.
  • KM-02, An Integrated Supply Chain and Strategic Planning, Level 7, 22 Credit.
  • KM-03, Risks, Compliance Management and Supply Chain Vulnerability, Level 6, 12 Credits.
  • KM-04, Policy Drafting Principles and Procedures and the Legal Framework, Level 6, 10 Credits.
  • KM-05, Strategic Performance Management and Improvement, Level 7, 19 Credits.

Practical Modules

  • PM-01, Conduct a Business/Organisational Analysis, Level 6, 12 Credits.
  • PM-02, Formulate a Supply Chain Strategy, Level 7, 12 Credits.
  • PM-03, Develop a Risk Management Strategy, Level 7, 8 Credits.
  • PM-04, Develop a Policy Framework for required Supply Chain Policies, Level 7, 8 Credits.
  • PM-05, Review and Evaluate Internal Policies for Supply Chain Operations, Level 7, 7 Credits.
  • PM-06, Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Process to track Performance against Strategy, Level 7, 7 Credits.
  • PM-07, Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Process to track Policy Non-compliance, Level 6, 8 Credits

  • WM-01, Supply Chain Strategy Development Processes, Level 7, 13 Credits.
  • WM-02, Supply Chain Policy Development Processes, Level 7, 11 Credits.
  • WM-03, Processes for Monitoring Policy and Strategy Implementation, Level 7, 12 Credits.

Admission Requirements

  • NQF Level 4 qualification with Mathematical Literacy and at least 4 years’ assessed experience.
  • Relevant NQF Level 6 qualification.
